Trivia Jolt is a free trivia site built around two things: ten fresh questions every morning, and full quizzes on the subjects people actually search for. There is no account, no sign-up and nothing to install. You open a page, you play, you see how you did.
Every question here is written from a named source and reviewed before it goes live. That sounds like a small promise until you have played a few trivia games online and noticed how many answers are simply wrong. Nothing on this site is generated and published unchecked.
The topic quizzes run at three levels. Easy is the stuff most American adults half-remember from school. Medium asks you to actually know it. Hard is for people who go to trivia night on purpose. Every quiz is ten questions, and every page also gives you the whole set as a printable list of questions and answers, for a quiz night that happens off a screen.
How the scoring works
Right answers come first, always. Time only breaks a tie: two players on the same score are separated by who answered faster, and a nine out of ten in three minutes still beats an eight out of ten in one. Each quiz keeps your best run, so replaying one can improve your place but never piles up — the way up the overall leaderboard is to play quizzes you have not played yet.

What does the word trivia actually mean?
From the Latin trivialis, « found everywhere, commonplace » — itself from trivium, a place where three roads meet, from tri- (three) and via (road). A crossroads is where everybody passes, so what you pick up there is ordinary. The sense we use today, meaning odds and ends of knowledge worth knowing for their own sake, is a twentieth-century one.
Is Trivia Jolt free, and do I need an account?
Free, and no account. You can play every quiz on the site without giving an email address or a password. The only thing we ever ask for is a name, and only if you want to appear on the leaderboard — you pick it at the end of a game, it is yours from then on, and that is the whole sign-up.
What makes a good free trivia game?
Three things, in our experience: the answers are right, the questions are not all the same difficulty, and you can play without making an account. Plenty of sites fail the first one. That is why every question here carries the source it was written from, and why the levels are separated instead of shuffled together.
What are ten good trivia questions?
That is the daily quiz: ten questions, one shot each, the same set for everyone that day. If you want a longer list you can print, every topic page opens its full set of questions and answers at the bottom — no screen needed.
How many trivia questions are on the site?
580 right now, across 58 quizzes, and the number goes up every night. New topics open on a published schedule rather than all at once, because each one has to be sourced and reviewed first.
